Dawn Striker-Allen, oboist with the Band of Mid-America from Scott Air Force Base, Ill., explains her instrument and the musical scale to students at Eisenhower Elementary School in Enid Tuesday. SSgt Victoria Cronsell performs for an audience in Sliven, Bulgaria. SSgt Cronsell is a vocalist with the US Air Forces in Europe Band.
The United States Air Forces in Europe Band is on a six-city tour through Bulgaria building international friendships in preparation for increased Air Force presence in specific Bulgarian communities. The concerts were presented on behalf of the US Embassy Sofia as a goodwill gesture for the country’s continued support. Bulgaria has recently become a NATO member and has been accepted as part of the European Union.
